Nancy O'Dell's professional career started in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and reporter for news with WPDE-TV. Later she was a morning-news anchor as well as crime reporter for WCBD TV. Her articles from Charleston, about how the Charleston police acted in DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter instruction for the state's authorities. Ms. O'Dell received her Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media.
